With the maturing of LED lighting industry, the quality of LED lamps is paid more attention, followed by a variety of quality certifications also picking up. The first is related to quality certification of LED lamps, such as LED bulbs, LED tubes, LED down lights, LED spotlights, LED panel lights, LED high bay lamps and LED tunnel lights; even include certifications of LED power supply as well as some of the LED components. However, certifications of foreign and domestic standards are different, thus there are product certifications and testing certifications. The certification of China mainly includes 3C certification, CQC certification, energy saving certification, while the international certification generally includes CB certification and CE certification.
The major international certifications include CB and CE certification. The CB certification application should pay attention to that the products should be in accordance with the appropriate version of the IEC standards and requirements of CTL resolutions. Different countries or regions may have different requirements on the certification equipments or methods. If necessary, there will be supplement tests of national differences. The application of CE certification should pay attention to products should subject to the requirements of the EU directive LVD detection project, including the requirements of EN safety standards, EMC standards and OSM resolution.
China’s Compulsory Certification mainly contains 3C and the prerequisite is the voltage of the power supply should be higher than 36V and not exceeding 1000V LED lamps. Products with special purposes do not belong to the scope of the CCC, such as LED street lights, LED flood lights, LED emergency lighting, LED panel lamps and embedded wall plate lamps. Voluntary product certification primarily includes CQC mark certification and energy saving certification.
Consumers now are pursuing cost-effective products, so in order to win consumer, almost every company will do some authority certifications. Over time, the technology is more stable. I believe the quality of LED lighting will be better and the price will be much lower.
