In China, medical lighting industry belongs to medical device industry. According to 2008 statistics, there are about more than 7,300 enterprises engaged in the production of medical equipment, but only less than 3% of them can produce medical lighting products, and most companies could only produce low-end products like the film viewer. Until recent years, the LED as a light source of medical lighting product appeared and was applied.
With the emphasis on community health care, medical rehabilitation, environmental protection and energy saving, since 2007, China's LED medical lighting started. However, due to the high barriers to entry products, technical risks, and most of the medical equipment business of LED performance, do not understand the use of technology, coupled with lighting products for medical mechanism involving medical, optical, mechanical, electrical, thermal and other complex technologies, only a few large companies and medical institutions co-production of such products. In addition, medical lighting product certification procedures are complicated, and therefore LED lighting medical progress is not satisfactory, incompatible with the demand.
LED lighting is now shifting from landscape lighting to functional lighting, from indoor lighting to outdoor lighting, from general lighting to special lighting, which is the inevitable progress technology and society.
Medical LED light source should comply with the requirements of adjustable, high reliability, and long lifespan, which is best solid light source to replace the current halogen lamps, mercury lamps and xenon lamps.
From 2010 onwards, the domestic LED operation shadowless lamp has been applied in some top three hospitals and is exported to Japan, Australia, the Philippines and other countries.
